Andrew Ritchie is currently Lead Officer for Developing the Young Workforce within Aberdeenshire Council’s Education Service. Prior to being appointed to his current role Andrew worked in a number of teaching and education leadership positions, most recently as a secondary Headteacher.

As Lead Officer Andrew is responsible for the developing the young workforce programme in Aberdeenshire schools which involves partnership with schools, employers, colleges and universities. As part of the 3-18 curriculum development Andrew has led on Aberdeenshire Council’s extensive Foundation Apprenticeship programme which has delivered very positive outcomes for young people and employers. These include raising attainment, closing the gap and improving positive outcomes, developing employability skills in young people and working with employers to provide clearer and more effective pathways into work for young people.
